As the influenza season is over, all data on the WHO, ECDC and EISS web-sites will now be updated only monthly with the next update at the end of August. Data can be expected to change because of testing of specimens taken earlier in the season.

Seasonal influenza activity in the world, 2008
This summary provides an updated report of seasonal influenza activity for weeks 35-36. It does not include reports of avian influenza in humans, which are available at the avian influenza page.
Seasonal influenza activity in the world, weeks 35-36 (as of 12 September 2008)
During the weeks 35–36, overall influenza activity in the southern hemisphere declined, except for Australia where local activity was reported and New Zealand where widespread outbreak was seen. Activity was low in the rest of the world.
